If you’re looking for a quick and easy crochet dishcloth that’s perfect for everything from scrubbing dishes to a washcloth, you’ve got to try this easy and free crochet dishcloth pattern!
A border of half double crochet ribbing surrounds plain flat stitches in the middle for a really nice texture frame. You’ll love how it looks when you’re done!
Here’s everything you’ll need to make one:
Materials
H/5.0mm Crochet Hook – I prefer working with my Furls Streamline Metal or Furls Odyssey when I use cotton yarn.
If you want to use stash yarn, any worsted weight cotton yarn will do! I have made other crochet dishcloths with Lily Sugar ‘n Cream, or even crochet washcloths with Knit Picks Dishie.
You’ll also need a yarn needle to weave in your ends.
Abbreviations
Ch- chain; Hdc- half double crochet; Lp- loop; St(s)- stitch(es);
Gauge / Finished Size
7 sts and 5.5 rows in 2” square.
Dishcloth measures 8.5” square after light blocking.
Special Stitches
3rd loop HDC: Looking at the front and back loops on top, roll the stitch away from yourself, you’ll see a third loop appear. Work stitches into this loop.
Notes
Worked flat in turned rows.
Turning chains do NOT count as a stitch throughout.
