This easy and quick crochet hat pattern is made with bulky weight yarn. That makes it the perfect fast crochet gift idea!
Texture crochet stitches can elevate your crochet hats from plain to extraordinary. This easy and chunky crochet basketweave stitch beanie pattern is loaded with texture for you to enjoy.
You’ll love the way the post stitches combine to create a really beautiful crochet basketweave stitch effect. Because there are some post stitches and skipped rows used in this pattern, I’d classify it as intermediate, but if you love it, give it a shot!
The yarn I chose is a soft chunky cotton yarn from Knit Picks. I’ve been so impressed with it! Honestly, it’s one of the softest cotton yarns I’ve ever felt. The only one I know of that’s softer is actually a cotton blend.
The simple texture along the brim of this hat adds just enough detail for a fun and unique look. Using thick yarn makes for a quick gift project. Try it, you’ll have fun!
