This simple, textured crochet blanket square features a triangular section of crochet bobble stitches for a really fun and easy afghan block. You can mix and match this square with my other bobble squares to make all sorts of fun quilt inspired blankets..

Materials
H/5.0mm Crochet Hook – these are my favorite ergonomic hooks- I can crochet longer with these than any others I’ve tried before!
1 skein Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice Yarn, Medium [4] weight, 100% Acrylic yarn, 3.5oz/100g, 170yds/156m, shown in Honey colorway.

Dc- double crochet

Gauge / Finished Size
12” x 12” square after blocking.
7 dc and 3.5 rounds in 2” square.
Special Stitches
Bobble: (Yarn over, insert hook into stitch indicated, yarn over and pull through 2 loops) 5 times, yarn over and pull through all but last 2 loops, yarn over and complete stitch.
Notes
This blanket square is worked in joined rounds from the center, and the “wrong side” of the work will face the front of your blanket.
Turning chains do NOT count as a stitch throughout.

Round 2: Ch 2, dc in next 3 sts, (dc 2, ch 2, dc 2) in ch-2 space, dc, bobble, dc across next 3 sts, *(dc 2, ch 2, dc 2) in ch-2 space, dc in next 3 sts,* rpt * to * on next side, (dc 2, ch 2, dc 2) in ch-2 space, sl to first st to join. [7 sts per side]
Round 3: Ch 2, dc in next 5 sts, (dc 2, ch 2, dc 2) in ch-2 space, dc in next st, bobble in next st, dc in next 3 sts, bobble in next st, dc in next st, *(dc 2, ch 2, dc 2) in ch-2 space, dc in next 7 sts*, repeat * to * across next side, (dc 2, ch 2, dc 2) in ch-2 space, dc in next 2 sts, sl st to first st to join.
