The annual Crochet Cancer Challenge hosted by Sweet Potato 3 Designs is one of my favorite events! I try to participate every year if I can, and many of you found my crochet patterns through this challenge.

Since this challenge is about crocheting for charity, I really tried to make the simple stitches shine in this pattern! Classic crochet shell stitches in a soft, comfortable yarn make a lovely chemo cap that’s pretty, but still quick and easy to make for donations or gifts.
It’s effortless to make, but I still think it’s really pretty, especially in the soft and pretty lavender yarn I found. I have tried Berocco Comfort for one other chemo cap pattern in 2023, and I really like it!
Looking for something a little fancier? You could try Linda’s Chemo Cap, or even the Lemons Chemo Cap for more interesting textures.
For the moment, the Simple Scallops Chemo Cap pattern is only available in the size Adult S/M, but if you grab the PDF copy on Ravelry, I have plans to expand the sizing sometime this year. Grab it now, and you’ll get the update when it drops (without paying for the price increase!)
For now, if you want to adjust sizing, check out this page to sign up for my newsletter and get a free copy of my hat size checker! It’s a super helpful 1 page printable tool that will give you the confidence to adjust sizing for top down hats to your custom fit, or several pre selected sizes.
