If you’ve been following along with our Christmas Hat CAL 2018, you’ve probably seen my Mermaid Tears Hat. I also made a coordinating Mermaid Tears Shawl in the same stitch pattern. It’s really neat to see just how different a stitch can look when worked in two separate weights of yarn!
Originally, I thought I might just link up the Shawl for the end of our Christmas Hat CAL Roundup, but I thought you all might like a cowl that more closely matches the beanie, to make a matched set. This easy lace crochet cowl pattern uses the slightly thicker Lion Brand Scarfie Yarn than the matching beanie pattern, but uses the same hook size and has the same gauge. You could certainly make the matching beanie and cowl crochet patterns with the same yarn for a perfectly coordinated set!

I love how the lace picot stitches make this cowl look unique. I think the picots added such a nice touch to the Mermaid Tears Shawl that I had to include them for this cowl!
