This gorgeous crochet bow hat makes a super cute baby gift! I really love simple, easy patterns that let the colors of the yarn speak for themselves, so this hat is perfectly my style!
If you’re looking for more fun crochet patterns, click over to My friend Rachel’s Amore Shawl pattern here!

I worked the bow into the rounds of the hat, and made sure to secure the loops so that they can’t be pulled out enough to cause a hazard. However, if you’re donating to a charity, like Little Hats Big Hearts, be sure to check their donation guidelines! They often specify that you shouldn’t include pompoms or bows in their guidelines, and prefer more basic hats like this easy bias ribbed newborn hat.

J 6mm Crochet Hook; Red Heart Soft Yarn (or appropriate worsted (4) weight substitute) in 2 colors of your choice- I used Soft Pink and Berry; Stitch markers (optional); Scissors; Yarn Needle

Notes
This hat is written for a Newborn (0-3 mo) baby size. If you’d like to resize the hat, check out my top down hat sizing tutorial post.
For a wider bow, you may add a second row of double crochet after the fdc row.
Try adding the bow row to the end of your favorite crochet hat pattern for an extra embellishment!
