Notes on Making a Custom Sized Crochet Ear Warmer
- If your head doesn’t fit neatly into any of the crochet ear warmer sizes above, you can simply begin with a chain that stretches to match your head circumference.
- Remember to keep your chains loose so your ear warmer doesn’t feel tight on the chain edge. If your chains feel tight, consider using a bigger hook just for your foundation chain.

Ch 50, then fasten off and break yarn, leaving a small tail to fasten.
Pinch the seam together, making sure the edges point back toward the inside of the ear warmer.
Wrap the chain tightly around the cinched section and the beginning yarn tail.
Knot the end of the chain to the yarn tail. It may be easier to turn the ear warmer inside out to do so.
Using your crochet hook, pull the yarn ends back through the underside of the chain wrap.
Trim ends to hide inside the wrapped section. Block if desired.
