Crocheted sun hats are my one weakness! No stitch pattern is too intricate, no yarn too fine, no deadline too close- if it’s a sun hat, I WILL crochet it! But, since I’ve hoarded patterns beyond my life expectancy, I thought I’d share my addiction with you all! Here are 7 of my absolute favorite free crochet sun hat patterns for children!

7 Free Crochet Sun Hat Patterns for Children
Scalloped Toddler Beach Hat on Salty Pearl Crochet
Of course, I had to include my Scalloped Toddler Beach Hat! My little fair skinned mermaid always needs a sun hat for beach adventures! In fact, I need to make her another, because she gets sunburned so easily and has outgrown this one. It’s on my to-do list!
Kids Linen Stitch Sunhat by Jennifer Pionk at AllFreeCrochet.com
This beautiful sun hat uses one of my favorite stitch textures! The Linen Stitch, aka Granite Stitch, aka Moss Stitch, makes such a wonderful base for hats, or even triangle scarves or just a super simple cowl with fancy yarn.
Calleigh Cloche by Elisabeth Spivey at AllFreeCrochet.com
This sweet cloche hat is adorned with a band of flowers. How adorable! I love that extra touch of color and sweetness.
Eden Cloche – Kirsten Holloway Designs
This light and fun spring hat feels just like a breath of fresh, crisp air. Even better? It’s made with Lion Brand Pound of Love- one of my favorite yarns!f
Easy Mesh Summer Hat by Creative Crochet Workshop
The airy open sides of this hat makes it perfect for hot summer weather! And isn’t that super ruffly brim just precious?
Lemon Sherbet Sunhat by Oombawka Design
This sunny, ribbed hat makes a perfect accessory to your summer outfit. Delicious crochet texture like this isn’t just for winter.
Lacy Shells Sunhat – the Lavender Chair
This sweet sun hat is part of a coordinating set. I’m a huge fan of big, airy lace for summer, to keep garments and hats light enough for high temperatures.
