This adorable, airy sun hat is featured in the Design Create Repeat Blog Hop!
Or, check it out on Ravelry shop HERE. I’d love if you added it you your Ravelry Favorites and queue while you’re there!
When I started thinking about a one skein project, I knew a hat was what I’d design. But I also knew that I wanted to do something more than your basic beanie- after all, it’s Summer! This awesome floppy sun hat makes a wonderful beach day accessory. Simple, open lace keeps the hat from feeling too hot while still offering some sun protection.
If you want a firmer hat brim, you’ll have to experiment a bit! Mine came out pretty floppy. If you use a smaller hook (but one or two more rows) that might get it done, or you can always use some starch on the brim when you finish, too. I thought it was pretty cute all floppy, so I let it be, and folded up the brim as needed.
The eyelets also let you get a bigger hat for your yarn skein! Great, right? Here’s what you ‘ll need to make one:

I just have to say that your daughter made me do this! She is just the cutest thing ever. I just had to make the batter and it looks lovely. Thank you and you just give that doll baby of yours big hugs!
