This easy and quick crochet hat pattern was honestly, an accident. After creating my holiday crochet planner for my crochet library, I was thinking about all my favorite tips for finishing Christmas gifts, and I realized that I had some chunky yarn in my bedside table. And a big crochet hook sitting on my nightstand! In about an hour, I had a finished hat!
Lately, I’ve been working on all sorts of fun crochet hat patterns for gifts. While we don’t have much need for a variety of winter accessories down here in Florida, much of our family lives up in the Midwest, and hats are just perfect for gifting!
But, my son took a liking to this hat. He told me it was his, and requested that I make a faux fur yarn pom pom to top the hat off. I think it looks great on him! …Albeit a little silly matching his red shorts. 🙂
This style of hat is really popular right now- I’m seeing chunky beanies like this one in stores at Target, Free People, and American Eagle, to name a few. That means they’re just PERFECT for quick and easy crochet gifts.
