I know when I’m looking for a great free crochet hat pattern, one of the things I look for is whether there’s a matching scarf pattern that goes with it. So, I decided to make a matching free, easy infinity scarf crochet pattern to match the XO Textured Toque. The result is this light (but still warm!) textured cowl scarf crochet pattern: the XO Textured Cowl.

Have you tried Mandala yarn yet? I’m quickly falling in love with it! I’m sure it’ll be one of my yarn stash staples before long. Besides the super soft texture, the gorgeous colors, and… (well you get the picture!) My favorite thing about them has to be the generous yardage. Even after making three coordinating crochet beanies in different sizes from the Lion Brand Mandala yarn cake I bought to try out, I still had plenty of yarn left over! (Even though the slip stitch ribbed brim uses quite a bit of yarn!) So, of course, I decided to make a free crochet cowl pattern to share with you all.
Crochet cowl scarves top my list of favorite crochet projects to make, because they’re just the right size for trying out a new stitch pattern without hogging a giant amount of yarn (or time)! I really enjoyed using the crossed double crochet stitch and the double crochet cluster stitch in this easy infinity scarf crochet pattern. You can really see the X and O textures of those stitches in the close up of my daughter’s hat.
Both stitches are fairly easy for an experienced crocheter, but I’ll be posting some photo tutorials very soon for anyone who would feel more confident with just a little more detail than I give in my pattern. With a little patience, I know you’ll be able to make this gorgeous infinity scarf crochet pattern, even if you call yourself a beginner.
