Materials Needed:
This list contains affiliate links. When you click through and purchase, I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thank you for supporting the free content on Salty Pearl Crochet!
H8/5mm Crochet Hook – Try the new Furls Streamline ergonomic hook!
1 Skein Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton, (4) Worsted weight 100% mercerized cotton, 100g/186 yds. Pictured in Ecru (Want your yarn faster? Order on Amazon Here!)
Scissors- these cute stork scissors are my fave!
Leather and Chain Purse Strap – you can buy this one from the photos on Amazon
D Rings for attaching your Strap- I bought a bulk pack for making more interchangeable purses!
Note: we won’t be working with the strap for this section, and I’ll include instructions for a crochet strap. BUT I’m in LOVE with the leather strap I found on Amazon! It’s well worth every penny.
This leather strap feels super soft, and it makes it so easy to carry. I love that I can switch it out between purses, too! Definitely a great buy- because I know already I’m going to make at least two purses- and probably many more!
So are you ready to get started? We’ll be crocheting the flap of the purse for Part 1 of the CAL.
Part 1 of the Bonnaroo Boho Bag CAL
Abbreviations
Ch- chain
Sc- single crochet
Dc – double crochet
Sk – skip
Tr- treble crochet
Gauge and Finished Size
7 double crochet and 4.5 rows per 2”
Since this isn’t a garment, your gauge isn’t super crucial. However, it will affect the size of your finished bag, as well as yardage required. So if you’re choosing a stash yarn, try to make sure you have a little extra, or get creative with your tassels like one of my testers did!
